Don't hate me when I admit this, but I got around to watching Cabaret for the first time last week. I know! I don't know how I've been living a full life without having had watched this movie. But let's not focus on me being the worst Liza fan in the world. Lets focus on my belated praise, 40 years too late. This movie has been on my list for a while now and now that I've watched it (2x already) it's quickly becoming one of my favorite movies of all time. I don't feel worthy saying this, but before watching this film I considered myself a HUGE Liza Minelli fan. I used to have this screen print tshirt of her face on it that I wore all the time. And I even cut all my hair off to have that signature Liza Minelli hair. At one point, I was so infatuated with this woman that people actually began to say I looked like Liza. I was transforming myself into her. That's how obsessed I was. And now I'm back to that obsession. Liza is this sex crazed Cabaret singer that says anything that's on her mind, has no filter and just give no fucks at all. I fell in love. There is absolutely no debate as to why she rose to international stardom after this movie because she was phenomenal. And here's my last and final note on this topic, the amount of fringe kimonos and robes she has in this movie got my heart rate going. Sally Bowles had my dreammmmmm WARDROBE! gah damn. Watch out guys, Vanessa is back with her Liza obsession 2.0 circa 2013 bitches.
